Da Vinci Knew (Lyrics) | March 8, 2014

We walked for hours,

They found golden rings,

But shaking heads,

Unchanging headings,

Your tired smile,

Before a slow moving glacier of cameras,

Going through the motions,

Like he knew you’d have to,

For tourists albums.

-

And I watch from the window,

Drink slow from my glass,

You talk poetic to friends,

In an ill fitting suit,

And a bowler hat.

-

We walked until our weighted legs complained,

Ate bread under iron monuments (to god know’s what),

Through halls of misplaced torsos,

And rooms of unclaimed heads,

For tourist albums.

-

And I watch from the window,

Drink slow from my glass,

You talk poetic to friends,

In an ill fitting suit,

And a bowler hat.

-

We are mauled by the TV drawl,

In any language it’s the same.
